The Turnip Prize

It was good to see that all 4 shortlisted for the Turner Prize have parents born outside UK. I suppose this gives them all a unique insight into the awfulness of British heritage and inspires their work? A particular well done to the winner, Lubaina Himid who, with blinding subtlety, identifies the miserable inferiority of our establishment.  Lubiana’s triumph, having spent the last 30 years as an “emerging artist” is a sort of theatrical montage in the style of Modern Infantilism.  I haven’t seen the original and I shall not be rushing over to Hull to see it - I may know very little about art but I do know what I like!
