A Watershed in Wokefulness?

So, good riddance Harry and Meghan. Their Royal Wokefulnesses have decided step down as senior members of the Royal Family and to spend more time with their Instagram account and grassroots media, forging a progressive and financially independent new role for themselves.  Good luck with that since those who live by the media usually perish by it in the long run.  And try explaining how flitting backwards a forwards between your new twin domiciles of UK and North America helps to solve the climate emergency.  Most importantly, how shall we know with what authority and and whose behalf they will be speaking in the future? Will, for example, their opinion on uncomfortable international bedfellows be echoing HMG policy or merely their own wishful thinking?  Nevertheless, whatever they decide to do, let us hope that it will be less painful for the taxpayer, particularly in terms of Presidential level personal security charges on the public purse? How much the anguished decision was influenced by Mushroom’s nomination in his Christmas Irritants List, in which the tiresome couple were only pipped by the ghastly Elton John, we cannot yet tell.  However, closely following Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes sermon, the welcome consequence of Harry & Meghan’s petulance could herald a watershed in public tolerance of empty-headed celebrity narcissists telling ordinary people how to run their lives.
