It is increasingly difficult to be amusing let alone
original about the virus crisis so I shall repeat a piece sent to me today by
my friend Ian whose weekly face to face I miss greatly already:
MEMORANDA by Ian Harrow
It’s always the right time to accept
your time may be up, or to know
when you should step back, or stay put;
that there’s never a wrong time
to be reminded, for example,
who the people we rely on are
and how few are likely to be celebrities
(imagine them as nurses, or just think
of the sort of job they’d make of the plumbing)
not to mention that there’s never
a bad time to recall that you either
strike the right note or stay silent.
