National Interest

In his Times column today, Daniel Finkelstein asks whether we are witnessing the “end of the American era?”  Reflecting on the response to the Covid-19 crisis he thinks it “extraordinary” how “national” the response has been.  A lot of us, 52% if the result of the referendum is anything to go by, would consider it “extraordinary” if the Government didn’t prioritise looking after its own citizens.  Daniel Finkelstein and the remain redoubt still don’t get it, do they?
