Good Money After Bad

The prospect of another £2 billion being chucked at the NHS says everything about the politicians jostling for popularity and sound bites and nothing about their concern about unsustainable borrowing at the expense of future generations.  Two billion out of 130 odd is unlikely to make a noticeable difference but it will certainly grab the headlines, for a few days.  Step forward any politician with the honesty and conviction to admit that we can, no longer, finance our cosy welfare services at sustainable rates, that we must cut our coat according to our cloth and that we need to change radically the way the NHS delivers healthcare to ensure the most efficient use of our taxes.  Nigel Farage prides himself on telling it how it is - perhaps he might care to continue the line of thought he so hastily curtailed recently?

  1. The thought of a 6 month long bidding war by all parties on the NHS is just depressing and in no way solves the problem.
