A Thought for Today
As the media pursue their relentless character assault on the Conservative Party in general and the Prime Minister and the "shadowy" Dominic Cummings in particular, it is easy to lose reception on the Labour Party leadership election fiasco. Perhaps that is the intention? Nevertheless, who could not have been rivetted by the latest TV debate and marvelled at the verbal contortions of the remaining candidates? On top of which comes the latest contribution from the Vicar of Bray in which he suggests that Labour should form a coalition with Liberal Democrats. I have no idea how this would work in practice unless, of course, the real purpose of a temporary alliance would be to steal each others votes? Meantime, the only threat to the Conservative Party at the next election would seem to be a Labour Party reinvigorated by a coalition with itself.
