My pal in Northumberland posed the question this morning,
"how on earth do Conservatives keep Miliband in post?" However, even
if he does cling on until May, that may not be enough.
Iain Martin observes in the Sunday Telegraph:
"With UKIP on the rise in
England, the Scottish Nationalists surging North of the border and both of the major parties struggling to get 35
percent of the vote, the next general election looks more and more as though it
will be a giant by-election involving all manner of chaos."
It will be of no comfort to Conservative election
strategists that they can rely on my vote (and many like-minded, I suspect) on
the sole basis that voting for any of the other parties is just too awful to
contemplate!
